Pool Family Vacation

Merry Kirihimete!  It has definitely been an unusual Christmas.  When you are used to having snow and cold weather, a day at the beach or hiking seems odd.  We  kept some of our traditions, but on Christmas day we went for a long hike through Ohinetonga reserve in Tongariro National Park, where dad and the boys took a dip in the icy cold Whakapapa river.  Dinner was barbecued lamb chops.  They don't really do Turkeys here.  Altogether it was a great day and a neat way to spend Christmas.

Hey Pool Fam how's it goin eh? Do ya miss us here up at da north pole eh? So glad to hear ya had a nice day on Christmas day eh? We had a good day too with the cooked up beaver and the reindeer jerkey and the Molson Canadian while we wore our touques and rode on the dog sleds. Fun eh? No but seriously, Christmas has come and gone in St.Albert. Christmas eve service was nice at Sturgeon Valley, and our family had 10 grown ups and 4 littles for dinner Christmas Day. We did do a turkey, and have eaten too many sweets. Thanks for sharing about your Christmas. We are all well - Carmen sure does miss Hayley though. Talk to ya later eh?

Hi guys! So so great to hear that you have enjoyed a hot and beachy Christmas. Great pics and I agree with Ethan, it seems like everyday is an adventure... and how awesome is that. We spent Christmas with friends this year and Peking Duck was our main dish... we all had a feast.
We still have several hours to ringing the New Year and looking forward to it. Miss you MC. Happy New Year!!!

Hi All!

Belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! The photos of your trip are absolutely amazing! You look like you are all having a great time, healthy and relaxed! It certainly is an adventure all the time.

Hey Mar, my Mom talked to your Mom and the translation got mixed up, and my Mom told me you guys went to Disneyland for almost 2 months. Who would want to go to Disneyland for 2 months? I quickly corrected her. Or does your Mom think you're in Disneyland??

Looking forward to more photos and blog comments!

Love,
Carrie

Hey guys...I know you are very (very, very) far from Ausie however, just checking in and wanting to know if the floods have affected in any way.

Just thinking of you

Emily,

Regarding the floods, it has not affected us here in NZ (we've had very little rain while we have been here) but it is quite awful there in Australia (Queensland) right now. We are watching it on the news regularly.
